Networking is more than just finding clients, it’s about finding your cheerleaders and supporters. Every day this week we’re Showcasing...
Every Monday we showcase the best of the UnderPinned Community, putting a spotlight on two freelancers whose work we believe deserve a special mention.

My Name is Darren Shaddick, I’m 26 and I’m an Illustrator based in the sticks of North Devon, for now.
My main focus with my Illustration work has always been playfulness. I like to create work that focuses on ideas or topics that feel personable to me, which often can be relatable to others.
I’ve always been eager to create something that hasn’t been seen before or, at the very least, is distinctive.
I’ve had some very exciting projects come my way the last couple of years, and I’m so thankful that I’ve had the opportunity to collaborate with some great clients.
Collaborating with Ralph Lauren in 2018 was a very exciting and unique experience for me as an Illustrator. I worked with them for their ‘SNOW BEACH’ campaign and it was insane, to say the least.
I had been shipped out to London to meet the team at their office, then was styled at their regent street store, then off to create portraits of customers in Selfridges.
Also, collaborating with giffgaff earlier this year was such a joyous experience, I was given a lot of creative freedom and just went with it, I ended up creating works that I’d never expected to make.
Working with UnderPinned this year has been a real treat too. In a recent commission with them I created one of my all-time favourite works for the article ‘Life as a Freelance Couple’ by Hilary Oliver.
More recently I’ve been added to the roster of Roar Agency, and I am very excited to work
alongside them and some great artists, very much looking forward to what the future brings!

My name’s Lizzy, I’m an editorial photographer based in London, but I’m more likely to be found having adventures around Eastern Europe, California and the Middle East.
I take my visual cues from the counter culture around me, my friends and family who all live and breathe art and music. My camera is an access-all-areas pass, opening doors to hidden worlds on my trips and a point of connection with other artists and interesting people.
When I’m not shooting, I’m usually filling my crates with new records or accumulating bruises from Jiu Jitsu.
